The
Amandari (peaceful spirits in Sanskrit) is located 45
minutes from the Ngurah Rai International Airport, and
only 5 minutes from the arts colony of Ubud. The
hotel is sited on an escarpment perched above the Ayung
River gorge, with views of the valley, bush land and
spectacular terraced rice fields. Actually situated on
the edge of Kedewatan Village, Amandari has been
designed as a walled Balinese Village, with all the
tranquility and serenity of the surrounding areas.
Staircases descend to the river and a series of tracks
lead to other villages and the town of Ubud itself.
The Amandari has been designed as a Balinese village,
with river-stone walkways and high paras-stone walls.
The pathway that runs through Amandari and down the
valley to the river below is said to be sacred land.
Paths lead from Amandari to surrounding villages. From
Amandari, most of Bali’s cultural and scenic offerings
are within easy reach.
